Save the Moles!

This new site plan shows the position of the proposed new homes and the football pitch following the two public exhibitions and further consultation with local residents.

The pitch shifts by almost 15metres to the south east (right on the plan) creating a larger piece of spare land to the north of the football ground. You can see how six pairs of semi-detached houses (coloured reddy-brown on the plan) fit comfortably into the space created. These 12 homes will be for private sale on the open market. Of course, all the house sizes, their gardens and the distances between the new and existing homes all comply with the standards set down by Elmbridge Council.

To the west of the ground (at the bottom of the plan) you can see were we plan to build eight units of affordable housing (coloured blue on the plan) – these homes will be managed by a local Housing Association.

Every one of the new homes has a parking space onsite, near the houses and completely separate from the parking for the football club along the main drive. The access will be from Walton Road and the main drive will be properly set out for parking and separated from the boundary fences with neighbouring properties.

The proposals will also introduce brand new flood lighting for the football ground. These new lights are greatly improved from what the club currently has – they are far more efficient – making them much cheaper to run – and are focused on the pitch with hardly any light ‘spillage’ to the surrounding area.

The significant changes that have been made following feedback from the exhibitions, and in consultation with local residents, include:

·         All the proposed new homes are now of a traditional house design in keeping with the Molesey area

·         The houses have been removed from the back of Anne Way and all the tree here are now to remain

·         All traffic access will be from the main entrance on Walton Road – NO traffic will use Cannon Way, Dunvegan Close, Anne Way, or any other local roads

·         Additional areas of planting and screening have been introduced to provide extra privacy and separation for existing residents
